once Peyton was up he was so excited about HIS birthday. he was ready to open presents as soon as he got up. we let both boys open one present this morning.
Jayden got a tickle me Cookie Monster. (i love how Peyton gets excited for Jayden when he opens a present).
Peyton got a new Harley Davidson motorcycle. we waited until this afternoon to open the rest of the presents. Peyton was fine with it. (even though in this picture he looks less than happy, i promise he was!) his new motorcycle kept him sooo busy all morning.
once Jason went to work, the boys and i had breakfast and got dressed. we took a ride up to the grocery store for Peyton to pick out which cake he wanted. (this is the first time i did not order one, so i was HOPING SO MUCH that we could find a good one). Peyton had not seen the pirate ship i bought for the cake yet, so i was excited about getting the perfect one for him.once we got home we set out the blow up Happy Birthday Cupcake in the front yard. it's always fun for them to see it blow up all by itself when we plug it in.
(i love the way our flowers look in the front yard, and our elephant ears are getting so big).
the rest of the morning we swam and played. we also set up everything outside for the party.
(this is the pirate ship pinata i found at Hobby Lobby. it is SO CUTE!)
by the time we ate lunch and read a couple of books the boys were ready for their naps. and it was time for me to get the house ready for the party as well. i had just enough time to get everything done AND build TWO pirate ships, the small one for the cake and a BIG one for the boys to play with. i was such a sweaty mess by the time i got done with the big one. it took at least 174 tiny screws to build it! although once it was done i was so excited! Jason had gotten home just in time to see me finish building it and set it up in the living room for Peyton to see when he woke up from his nap. needless to say HE LOVED IT!
this really is a great pirate ship! my mom (Bunny) found it online at JCPennys. it was on clearance for $30, marked down from $140 or something. i bought it about 6 mths ago and had no idea when or if we would ever give it to the boys. i had no idea they were going to go through a pirate stage. i am SO glad i bought it now!
the cake turned out REALLY cute, and Peyton loved it! it can go in the water so he was really excited about blowing out the candles SOON so he could take it into the pool.
all of us got dressed and ready for the guests to show up. Peyton and Jayden played with the pirate ship until everyone got here. it shoots cannons and makes different noises. it really is fun for them.
both boys got a pirate cap today as well. Jayden loves his.
once people started showing up we let Peyton open his gifts.
he got so many great things! it was such a fun birthday for him.
then we decided to do the cake early, since my parents and a few other friends weren't going to stay to swim. i love this picture of Peyton. (not so much of me though.)
SO HAPPY!
my sister Brook sent me this picture she took of Peyton. it's so cute! could he be happier today!
make a wish!
then it was time for swimming and visiting outside. Peyton and Liddy obviously didn't know i was behind them with the camera.
the adults hanging out in the shade. i love our cabana!
then it was time for MORE PRESENTS!
these were from Aunt Tracy and Uncle Scott.
it is always so much fun opening their presents. the boys both got clothes from The Children's Place and a couple of DVDs.
Peyton also got a new V-Tech game. we LOVE these things! they are games that teach colors, letters, and sounds. Peyton also loved Tabby helping him. he kept saying 'here Tabby this one is yours'. so sweet! he LOVES his cousins!
then finally we cut the cake.
it was REALLY good!
Peyton's pirate party was a lot of fun for everyone. it was so great to visit with family and friends. before Brook and her family left we traded cupcakes (for the yard). hers has 4 candles on it, and mine has 1. so since her baby is turning one next weekend and Peyton turned 4, we decided to trade. Brook sent me these two pictures she took of Peyton and i. they are so cute. he sure does love being a pirate!
once the party was over Peyton played with his pirate ship a little more.
he really is serious about this thing!
Pirate Peyton!
the boys were worn out by the end of the day.
it was a really great birthday for Peyton, and for all of us!
Happy 4th Birthday Pirate Peyton!we love you!
