yard work

we have been working in our backyard a lot lately. it is one of our favorite things to do when spring is here, although Jason does more of the 'work' than i do. i have my hands full with entertaining the boys while Jason is busy in the yard. but i help when i can. plus Jason IS the landscaper, he knows A LOT more than i do about what plants can go where.we love hibiscus and palms. Jason just planted about 6 or 7 small (palm trees) in our back yard a couple of months ago. the big palm tree (above) was here when we moved in.last year we had a lot of red hibiscus, which Jason can't really see that well against the green leaves, (he's color blind) so this year we went with pinks and yellows. they are really pretty right now and only get better in the summer.my small project (and was at our other house as well) is morning, and evening glories. i LOVED them at our other house. so i planted both about a month ago. they started growing pretty fast and are already climbing their way up the fence. this is about three weeks of growth. soon it will be covered with flowers.since we have shade now, (at our other house we didn't have much), Jason planted a lot of flowers and plants that love shade under our big tree.soon they will (hopefully) cover the the flowerbed. Jason asked me to marry him on this bench. it is pretty special to us, so it made the move with us to our new house.and of course we have our favorite cardinal. the boys and i feed him a lot. Jason buys cardinal food where he buys his lawn equipment. the cardinals love it. i REALLY need a zoom lens. this is the best i could do. he was in our neighbors tree.

busy

we painted Peyton's new big boy room this week, and i am now in the process of decorating it. i have been shopping on ebay for a surfboard, and found one, but was not quick enough to 'win' it. no big deal, i will just continue to look. i love decorating and finding new things and ideas for our house.

i try to keep myself away from etsy.com (because it is highly addictive), but today i decided to give in and found some really cute things for Peyton's room. i came across this banner at gingerwinks design for children. it is so cute and will be perfect in his room. (of course it will say Peyton).

i also came across this print at kids colorful artwork. i haven't bought it yet. i'm still thinking, but the more i look at it the more i love it. (btw if you have never shopped on etsy before, do it. you will like it. i promise).i also love, LOVE this one. not sure where i would put it, maybe in Jayden's room or the playroom. it's so cute!

we bought and painted chair rail for Jayden's room today. we will be installing it tomorrow. i am so excited about seeing his room finished. (we painted his room this week as well). the paint turned out perfect. (apple green and brown). we also painted the master bedroom. we have been busy, and it has paid off. everything looks really good.

dandelion

my dandelion came yesterday. Jason and i put it up in the playroom this evening. it's really cute! my parents got me the saying for Christmas. i think it's adorable although my sister, Brook thinks it's mean. she cracked me up when she read it for the first time. i love her.Peyton LOVES it as well. he stood on the back of the couch just so he could be in the picture then took a flying JUMP onto the couch. boys! i love them!

dandelion

i bought this today for the playroom. it's a dandelion wall decal. i can't wait to get it. hopefully it will be as cute in the playroom as it is in this nursery.click it

i decided we need something new in the playroom. the walls and trim were pretty bad. we decided to paint light blue on the walls with white trim. we will keep the beams the way they are. this is what we started with. this picture was taken before we moved in.

the walls are a light yellow/offwhite with brown paneling and trim.after, with new shelves. i am still working on the trim.i want to get a picture for this wall. maybe something with the alphabet. definitely something fun, something the boys can learn from would be nice.

new changing table

i've been asking Jason to make a changing table that would fit in our laundry room. Jayden has one in his room but it has gotten to the point where i just end up changing him on the floor in the living room. it's just easier. or it WAS easier. Jayden is starting to move around like crazy when i change him. i give him a toy, or just try to do it really fast before he escapes from me. but it was just getting to the point where i either need to go into his room to change him, which i do sometimes, or have Jason make me a new one that would fit in our laundry room. he finally got the materials and made one. it looks so nice and fits great! there are cabinets above it where i have a basket of diapers, wipes, and cream.

The house we LOVE and want!

I found this house online one morning when i couldn't sleep. it is BEAUTIFUL! it has everything we want in a house. 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, a gameroom, and a pool. we looked at it again today. we are waiting to find out if we get it. we are in love with this one. we have looked at SO many houses and have been outbid on at least 6 of them. We are hoping #7 does us right. this one is perfect for us!

Peyton's room is ready!

we have been working on Peyton's room for a few weeks. it has been so much fun deciding on colors and finding the perfect bedding for his crib. we finally bought a crib with the money recieved from our showers. i LOVE it and his room. everything is ready and looks so cute. it just needs our cute little baby boy now. i can't wait to rock him in the rocking chair and for him to sleep in his new bassinet and crib.
