St. Patty's Day 2010

i was a little lazy on taking St. Patrick's Day pictures this year. so lazy that i did them ON St. Patrick's Day. i didn't feel like getting my stand and everything out so i took them in the kitchen like we did last year.... speaking of, this is last year's photo (my mom made the boys hats). still one of my favorite pictures of the boys. i was just learning with my new Nikon D40 when i took it.and this is one year later with the same hats and camera, (and shirts.... see how lazy i was!)they grow so much in one year! they're such good brothers. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

i love love

valentines day was never a favorite holiday for me, but when i met Jason it all changed. since i have met him he has always made v-day special. our first valentines day he cut out at least 50 hearts and laid them on my bed (in a heart shape), and on each heart had a reason why he loved me. (i still have those hearts somewhere).... and here we are almost 6 years later and he is still making valentines day great! this year he surprised me with a lensbaby muse, double glass....(i have been wanting this lens for awhile).he also gave me tulips, and arranged for Paw-Paw to babysit so we could go out to dinner. we had a great time! the boys had a great day as well. we stayed inside most of the day. it was still really cold outside and the snow had started to melt. so we had a pajama day and made Valentine crafts.Happy Valentines Day!

A Pre-School Special Day

Peyton,
today was your 'Special Day' at pre-school and it was so great! i had so much fun sharing it with you and seeing you with all of your friends. while i was there i tried to stay back and watch (with my camera in hand of course). you are such a big boy, as soon we walked in the room you went right over and signed in (first and last name!) and then went to work on puzzles while the rest of your class arrived.your teacher gave you your very own crown because today was YOUR day!once everyone arrived we had a fire drill and you were the line leader. all of you were so good about staying in line and with your teacher. when we came inside it was time to say The Pledge of Allegiance. you were so excited to be the one to hold the flag.you did such a great job! then it was time for me to tell your class about you and how special you are. i brought a few pictures to share with your class. one of Jayden, one of you swimming, one of Sammie, and a few others. you had so much fun helping me explain all of the pictures!your teacher hung them on the bulletin board so you and your friends can see them all week. i also read two of your favorite books to your class: 'If You Give a Cat a Cupcake' by Laura Numeroff and 'Annie and the Wild Animals' by Jan Brett. after story time we all went outside for Gym. first your Gym teacher talked about the letter and number of the week....then she explained a new game to all of you. you were so good listening to all of the instructions. first all of you went out to the mat, and one person would lay down. (you got to be the first 'daddy' to lay down). then all of your friends would whisper, and then yell DADDY WAKE UP!and everyone would run around until someone was tagged.... then it was their turn to be the 'daddy' or 'mommy' who slept on the mat. i had a great time watching you play. after the game you had free time. you played so great with everyone, and i was SO impressed to see you swing all by yourself! i didn't know that you had learned to pump your legs on the swing at pre-school! after recess everyone lined up.... washed hands, and then it was time for your Special Day snack! you had been requesting BLUE cupcakes ever since we knew your Special Day was coming.... so yesterday while i was shopping i was so glad to find one box of BLUE CUPCAKES! i also bought a bag cubed cheese, apple juice and plates & cups. i am pretty sure you LOVED all of it!everyone loved the snack.... and had a great time visiting. i snuck out a little after snack time was over.... i had to get home to relieve Grandpa of babysitting Jayden. when i walked in Jayden had Paw Paw covered in his blankies, and playing with trains. they had a good morning together. Paw Paw is a great babysitter!Jayden loves Paw Paw so much. After Grandpa left, Jayden and i went back to pre-school to pick you up. Jayden was worn out.... but ready for you to come home.Peyton your Special Day was perfect, and i really enjoyed watching you play and learn with all of your friends. as much as i love seeing you at school, i love it even more when i see you ready to come home.after you and Jayden took a nap this afternoon i let both of you have the last two cupcakes.Jayden was so excited there was one left for him.and you were thrilled to have ONE MORE Special Day cupcake.
Happy Special Day Peyton! thank you for showing me what a good boy you are at school. i am so proud of you and i love you so much!

Tommy's Graduation Party

my cousin Tommy had his graduation ceremony in Dallas today. so the boys dressed up in their new clothes. they looked so cute! (thank you Aunt Tracy & Uncle Scott!).all of us were excited to see everyone. well.... in this picture Jayden doesn't look thrilled but i promise he was happy!after the ceremony we met all of them (Tommy, Amanda, Uncle Tom, Aunt MaryLee, Bunny, Poppy and Grandpa) for dinner at Rio Mambo. we had such a great time! even the boys had a blast.
i could not believe the size of the milk cups they gave the boys! once we got home i had to change Jayden out of his nice clothes because he had peed through his diaper.... thanks to the EXTRA LARGE milk they kept refilling! its all good though, the restaurant was SO GOOD! Jason and I are definitely going back. it was so nice to have everyone here at our house!and it was so great to see everyone together! Peyton fell in love with Tommy. he calls him the magic man now. (during dinner Tommy kept making crayons disappear into Peyton's ears. it was hysterical watching them together). Peyton was excited to help Tommy blow out the candles on his graduation cake. the boys loved the graduation hats Bunny brought. Bunny made the pinata.... isn't it cute? both boys had a lot of fun with Amanda in the playroom. i didnt get any pictures of the boys and Amanda together. i wish i would have. they LOVE her!they played with the balloons all night.
and of course hitting the pinata is always fun!
it took a little while before it hit the ground....
and finally broke open....and the boys found all kinds of treats....they loved the masks! (thank you Bunny!)finally before everyone left we tried to take a group photo. this was the best of the 4 we took. ( i still havent mastered being in front of the camera while taking a picture.... its going to take some practice. this is sooc: straight out of camera.... maybe next time i will try to hide the remote). i loved having everyone here! i want to start taking group pictures every time we all get together.
it was so great to see ALL of you! miss you lots!
