sold and then some

last week i decided to list my favorite lens on ebay. at first it made me nervous.... but it was the only way i could make sense of buying a new one. so i took a few pictures of it,listed it, and waited. the first few days i had only one watcher and zero bids. but then someone bid and then a few others followed. well the auction ended a few days ago and i just mailed my lens today. buh bye favoritest lens, it's been real!i am very happy with final bid.... but also still a little nervous. i guess i wont really relax about this until i know the buyer receives it, and some positive feedback would be great! so i wait, and in the meantime i have already ordered my new lens, the Nikon 50mm 1.4. I cant wait to get it! unfortunately it wont be here in time to take the boys Easter pictures. which is fine.... i still have my zoom. which i had forgotten how much i love. its soooo great to have when the boys are playing outside. it's also been a great indoor lens as well. hopefully the search for my NEW favorite lens is over. i think with one prime and one zoom i might be pretty set for awhile.... although i do have my eye on the Nikon D700. the one and ONLY camera for me! maybe someday!

St. Patty's Day 2010

i was a little lazy on taking St. Patrick's Day pictures this year. so lazy that i did them ON St. Patrick's Day. i didn't feel like getting my stand and everything out so i took them in the kitchen like we did last year.... speaking of, this is last year's photo (my mom made the boys hats). still one of my favorite pictures of the boys. i was just learning with my new Nikon D40 when i took it.and this is one year later with the same hats and camera, (and shirts.... see how lazy i was!)they grow so much in one year! they're such good brothers. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

pre-school community helper parade

last week.... (yes im behind on my blogging), Peyton had his Community Helper Parade at pre-school. he was so excited to be a fireman! i gave him a choice of a few different people he could be and 'FIREMAN MOMMY, PLEEEASE!' was his choice. so i was SO HAPPY to find a great costume at Party City(my favorite place to shop for parties and things like it!). he looked so cute and was so excited about the fireman rainboots i surprised him with right before we left for pre-school.Paw-Paw came over to babysit Jayden so i could spend the morning with Peyton and watch his class walk down main street. Peyton did his regular morning stuff. working in 'stations'.i asked him to smile for the camera and this is what a got.... a 'cheeeeese' face. i think i was interrupting his me time.it was fun to see his class so busy doing so many things.Peyton's teacher is SO GOOD. he loves her.then it was time to say the pledge, and have circle time with his teacher. she read a book and talked about community workers. then finally it was time for the parade. they were all so cute in their uniforms today.it was fun to watch them look for community workers on the street. they even looked in the windows of all of the shops. it was fun and made me want to go back to main street to shop a little.main street is a busy place.... and even busier with a bunch of 4 year olds walking around. all of the four year old classes stopped at the gazebo for pictures. it was hard getting a good one (even with my zoom lens) parents were all over the place.
it was fun watching Peyton take it all in though.
after pictures, Peyton took a break by himself on the bench.

this 'jail' is on main street. i meant to stop and read the historical marker in front of it, but i didn't want any of the kids to follow me across the street.
the teachers had the kids sit down in front of school when we got back. all of them were worn out. it was a long and windy walk for everyone.
i love spending time with Peyton at his school. two moms told me how sweet and nice Peyton is all the time. i was so proud.

i saw him grow today

i had the boys outside as soon as i could this morning. it was BEAUTIFUL out! as i was cleaning up things in the yard (we have toys ALL OVER all the time!), i looked over and saw Peyton had a wrench in his hand and was working on his bike. so of course i asked him what he was doing and this was his response.... 'I'm taking my wheels off. I'm going to ride with two wheels. I'm bigger now'. sooo.... i watched him (in amazement) while he unscrewed each wheel and set it aside. Jayden was right beside him, being his assistant i guess. after Peyton was done he walked his bike over to me and said 'Mommy you help me and I will ride like a big boy". i then told him how hard it is to ride on two wheels and it may take awhile to balance. so i held his bike, he climbed on, we balanced together with his feet on the pedals, then..... i.let.go. and HE DID IT! he not only did it.... he took off like he's done it a hundred times. after Jason got home from work this afternoon we took the boys over to the park so Peyton could have more room to ride. and once again, Peyton took off! i am so proud of you Peyton, ever since you were a baby you figured out what was important to you, and did it! i love you so much more every day big boy! im so proud of you today and always! the park (ing lot) was so much fun. daddy stayed close to you the whole time. he is so proud of you!we let Jayden ride his tricycle at the park too. we didn't want him to feel left out. he is getting SO GOOD!Jason finally let the boys ride across the parking lot by themselves. (of course i was at the other end taking pictures).Jayden tried so hard to keep up. i was so proud of him!
taking a break with Paw-Paw....and some fist pumps for a good job! Jayden hung out with Paw-Paw a little longer.... because Paw-Paw is his bff.then it was time to follow daddy home. look at Jayden's tongue! i love it!by the end of the day Peyton was not only riding his bike, he was starting, stopping, and making 'black marks' on the driveway when he stopped. he also took the time to find a pine cone for us.... thank you Peyton! we love you!and Jayden had a snack on the couch. (good job Jay! we love you bunches!)
Good job today boys! Mommy and Daddy love you a whole bunch and we are SO PROUD of you!

spring? is that you?

the weather FINALLY changed.... this weekend it was sunny and warm! we were so excited to not only have great weather, but Aunt Tracy, (Jason's sister) flew in town from Illinois for the weekend. Peyton really wanted to show Aunt Tracy the park so the boys climbed into the wagon and off we went.Jayden climbed out of the wagon when he saw the playground....then Peyton took off after him. they couldnt wait to play!Jayden was SO EXCITED to play on everything! he tried to do everything Peyton did.
he's big enough to slide all by himself now....with the help of his tongue of course!Peyton had a great time on the swings, especially when daddy pushed him 'higher please!'Peyton also did a great job of swinging on his own.Jayden loved hangin' around. time to go!when we got home Peyton played football with Grandpa. i was impressed at how many times he caught the ball!
it was a great weekend with Aunt Tracy, but it went way too fast. the boys fell IN LOVE with her!Jayden calls her ' Ah KeeKee'. he cracks us up how he comes up with names for everyone. we are all going to miss her so much! come back soon Aunt Tracy!
