A Pre-School Special Day

Peyton,
today was your 'Special Day' at pre-school and it was so great! i had so much fun sharing it with you and seeing you with all of your friends. while i was there i tried to stay back and watch (with my camera in hand of course). you are such a big boy, as soon we walked in the room you went right over and signed in (first and last name!) and then went to work on puzzles while the rest of your class arrived.your teacher gave you your very own crown because today was YOUR day!once everyone arrived we had a fire drill and you were the line leader. all of you were so good about staying in line and with your teacher. when we came inside it was time to say The Pledge of Allegiance. you were so excited to be the one to hold the flag.you did such a great job! then it was time for me to tell your class about you and how special you are. i brought a few pictures to share with your class. one of Jayden, one of you swimming, one of Sammie, and a few others. you had so much fun helping me explain all of the pictures!your teacher hung them on the bulletin board so you and your friends can see them all week. i also read two of your favorite books to your class: 'If You Give a Cat a Cupcake' by Laura Numeroff and 'Annie and the Wild Animals' by Jan Brett. after story time we all went outside for Gym. first your Gym teacher talked about the letter and number of the week....then she explained a new game to all of you. you were so good listening to all of the instructions. first all of you went out to the mat, and one person would lay down. (you got to be the first 'daddy' to lay down). then all of your friends would whisper, and then yell DADDY WAKE UP!and everyone would run around until someone was tagged.... then it was their turn to be the 'daddy' or 'mommy' who slept on the mat. i had a great time watching you play. after the game you had free time. you played so great with everyone, and i was SO impressed to see you swing all by yourself! i didn't know that you had learned to pump your legs on the swing at pre-school! after recess everyone lined up.... washed hands, and then it was time for your Special Day snack! you had been requesting BLUE cupcakes ever since we knew your Special Day was coming.... so yesterday while i was shopping i was so glad to find one box of BLUE CUPCAKES! i also bought a bag cubed cheese, apple juice and plates & cups. i am pretty sure you LOVED all of it!everyone loved the snack.... and had a great time visiting. i snuck out a little after snack time was over.... i had to get home to relieve Grandpa of babysitting Jayden. when i walked in Jayden had Paw Paw covered in his blankies, and playing with trains. they had a good morning together. Paw Paw is a great babysitter!Jayden loves Paw Paw so much. After Grandpa left, Jayden and i went back to pre-school to pick you up. Jayden was worn out.... but ready for you to come home.Peyton your Special Day was perfect, and i really enjoyed watching you play and learn with all of your friends. as much as i love seeing you at school, i love it even more when i see you ready to come home.after you and Jayden took a nap this afternoon i let both of you have the last two cupcakes.Jayden was so excited there was one left for him.and you were thrilled to have ONE MORE Special Day cupcake.
Happy Special Day Peyton! thank you for showing me what a good boy you are at school. i am so proud of you and i love you so much!
Mommy
