Jason's 36th Birthday

while Jason was at work today, the boys and i baked him a cake. Peyton and Jayden helped a lot, they even got to break a few eggs. the best part (always) was licking the spoon.(some of my pictures are darker than others. my speedlight batteries were almost dead and we didn't have anymore AA batteries in the house.... i should have taken the batteries out of the remote! why didn't i think of that earlier?)the finished product.... i can't remember the last time i made a cake. turned out pretty good!Peyton was so excited to show Jason his presents when he got home from work. we set up the table with decorations and all of his gifts. Bunny and Poppy came over to celebrate. Jayden took advantage of all the extra help. he REALLY wants to ride a bike all by himself lately. Bunny was such a great helper!while we were outside, storms started rolling in. the clouds were interesting to the boys.... and to Jason as well. he LOVES when it rains. finally it was time for presents. (there goes my speedlight again!) i REALLY need some new batteries!
the boys made Jason a handprint picture with a poem called 'My Daddy's Hands'.i found it in a magazine and loved it.... so we did handprints a few days ago and i put it all in a frame.

Jason also got a new wedding ring.... long story, but he lost his about a week after we were married. he has been wearing one of my Dad's old wedding rings (for 5 years!). so i finally went out and got him his very own again. he was REALLY surprised.Peyton tried it on, and said 'i'm going to have a ring like that someday'. such a sweet boy!a new Ipod! Jason broke his.... well not so much broke it, it's just bent and looks horrible.and a new spatula! oooh don't be jealous.

time for cake! finally!he has a spoon.... but eats with his fingers. it's fun to be 2!more please....Grandpa bought some GREAT steaks for dinner. him and Jason cooked them on the grill tonight. dinner was SO GOOD!Happy 36th Birthday Jason! we love you!
