where do i begin big boy. you are so brave. i, on the other hand, was kind of a mess this morning. rushing around getting everything together. your backpack and new shoes and making sure you were comfortable. daddy and i had a talk with you about being nice and using your manners. you said ok mommy and ok daddy, and were pretty much ready to go.
i walked you into school with Jayden in the stroller. you had your backpack on and walked ahead of us like you had done it a million times before. you said hi to one kid and he was mean. you looked at me like 'what's his deal?' dumb kid didn't know who he was talking to i guess.
when you saw your classroom you had the biggest smile on your face. you walked right in, the teacher said hi to you and helped us find your cubby.
you sat and played with a little girl at one of the tables then went exploring around the room. the teacher was trying to tell you not to do it, but you did anyway. i just stood back and watched you, taking pictures of it all, of course.
i finally snuck out a few minutes later and pretty much had to hold myself together as i watched you through the window and out to my car. as soon as i got the baby and myself in the car the tears came. i missed you all ready. youre a big boy now. although i still see you as my baby. i thought about you the WHOLE LONG three hours you were gone. i watched the clock and your schedule the whole time. i wondered what you were doing, who you were playing with, and hoping you were having fun. at 11:35 Jayden and i got into the car to get you. it felt like forever before we finally got to your school, even though it's only about a 15 minute drive. i sat in the line of cars, turned the corner and there you were with your backpack, holding your teachers hand. when you saw my car you had the biggest smile on your face. i am so proud of you Peyton. you did so good. i hope it is the beginning of many happy school years for you. i love you big boy more than you know.
