busy

things around here have been busy. last Thursday (as i have mentioned) Peyton got his big boy bed. he is doing great with it! the first night went smooth. he was a little sad when we put him down, but fell asleep fast and stayed in bed all night. we actually woke him up early Friday morning. it was really sweet seeing him sleeping in his big bed. seriously, the bed is huge for him. he takes up just one small corner of it.

Friday night was a little different. Jason was out of town, so maybe that had something to do with the FIVE times Peyton came into my room to tell me something. it went something like this:

* the first time: i heard a noise. (which seriously freaked me out). i thought someone was trying to get into the house. our doors make a noise when they open, and that's what i heard (or so i thought). so my plan was to check the house and if i saw anyone i was going to tell them to 'please get out'.... (yeah, i REALLY need to work on a better plan). i didn't see anyone (thank God) so i went back to my room. about 10 minutes later i heard it again. so i go check it out with the same (stupid) plan i had before. this time i find Peyton standing in his doorway. he says 'i not tired'. so (thanking God it was Peyton and not anyone else), i carry him back to bed, cover him up and explained to him how the sun is down and it's time for everyone to go to sleep. he bought the story so i went on my way. i also told him to STOP opening his door because he might wake the baby. (what i really meant is, youre freaking mommy out with your loud door).

* the second time: Peyton walks into my room and says 'it's too dark in my room', so being the great Mommy i am, i carried him back to bed (again), gave him a hug and turned his bathroom light on.

* the third time: 'Pablo not in bed', (who? oh yeah Pablo, backyardigans, not a problem) so again, carry him to bed, find Pablo, tuck Peyton in, plus Pablo, and the two tiggers he sleeps with.

* fourth time: 'my tag is itchy' (OMG!) staying calm, take him by the hand, go into the kitchen, cut his itchy tag out, which by the way has NEVER bothered him before, then tuck in, kisses, hugs, and night night.

* FIFTH time: 'i need to tee tee', (um ok, i can't even begin to argue with that one). so, off we go to the bathroom, then tuck him in, LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN this time, and say goodnight.

at this point it is 10:30pm. i told myself i would be in bed by 10:30 so i turned off my light and tv and HOPED that Pablo and all the itchy things would stay in their place so we could all get some sleep. and thank goodness they did. i didn't hear a peep until morning.

so as i mentioned before, on Friday of last week we all woke up early to get Jason to the airport. he flew to Illinois to get his dad (G-pa), he is moving to Texas. Jason flew out there and drove Randy home on Saturday. they made it here with a u-haul and Sammie (our dog) on Saturday afternoon. they were all pretty tired, but had a good trip home. Sammie is living with us again.
(we gave Sammie to G-pa when we sold our house in 2007 and moved into an apartment to look for a new house). G-pa loves Sammie and Sammie loves G-pa, and Illinois. i hope she likes living in Texas again. we don't have near the land that G-pa had at his house in Illinois. last Friday was also Peyton's first trip to the dentist. (yes it was a BUSY morning) i was REALLY nervous. i had no idea how Peyton would feel about the whole thing. he feels people out pretty well, and if he doesn't like something or someone he will let you know. i explained to Peyton a lot where we were going and what was going to happen. i had him open his mouth for me and let me touch his teeth and tell him that was what the nice lady was going to do, then we could go home. he seemed fine with it when i talked to him about it but i was still very NERVOUS. well.... he did awesome! our appointment was at 10:30 and we were out of there by 11:30. his teeth are great! no cavities! and we should go back for another cleaning in 6 months. i was THRILLED! i gave both boys a 'surprise' for doing so well. Jayden did awesome sitting in the stroller for an hour. we came home and PLAY, PLAY, PLAYED. we were all happy to see G-pa, Sammie and daddy drive up on Saturday. the boys had just gotten up from their afternoon nap when they got here. G-pa stayed here Saturday night, and Sunday morning him and Jason got up early to unload the u-haul at his new apartment.while they were moving G-pa, the boys and I went to Babies R Us to (finally) buy bedrails for Peyton's bed. i researched them online because apparently there are some that don't really do the job. i read the reviews and found some that seemed like they would be great. they were the more expensive ones, but when i got them home i found out why. they are awesome! Peyton has taken one nap so far, and slept last night with them. so far so good! we have the chairs are back in the dining room now, and i am searching for a surfboard for Peyton's room. i am really excited about decorating his big boy room, although i still can't believe how fast he is growing up.
