field day

i have been taking the boys to field day since they were babies. so.... today was Peyton's third field day and Jayden's second. the boys were so excited this morning. they LOVE visiting Jason's school. we get there right at lunch time and then stay for a couple of the kindergarten relays. the flour ball relay is Peyton's favorite. as you can tell Jayden was a little unsure of the whole thing. he stood back and watched everything. he was so quiet the whole time.

btw their shirts were a big hit, i bought them at Gymboree, (just incase youre looking for a crab shirt). i guess crabs are the new black. we don't usually dress them alike, but sometimes it helps me keep an eye on them better. especially when there are LOTS of kids running around.i was surprised by Peyton. he remembered from last year what the kids do in the flour ball relay. (last year we brought home one of the tubs full of flour and a couple of golf balls so Peyton could play at home). it's sooo messy, but so much fun!when the event was over the classes cleared out, so the boys got to play in the flour. Jayden got the hang of it pretty quick. such a smart little boy!
Jason gave both of the boys a ribbon for doing such a great job. they did a good job of staying with us, and not running around too much.at one point both boys got in line with the kindergartners to run in a race. it was pretty cute seeing them trying to blend in with all of the big kids.
Jason works on the events the whole day. it takes him a few days just to set everything up. when i worked with him it was one of my favorite days. the kids are all soooo happy and excited, and the teachers are as well. it's a fun day for everyone. after we saw the kids do a couple of relays we let the boys play in the gym then we came home. the boys passed out, taking about a two hour nap.

once they woke up we went back to see Jason again. field day was over and he was cleaning everything up. we let the boys play on the playground for awhile. Jayden ran out to the playground as fast as he could. i love the way he watches his arms when he runs.he's such a serious jogger! makes me want to eat him. look at that face!both boys had great time playing. they had the playground all to themselves.Jayden didn't know what to do first.Peyton knew exactly what he wanted to do. has been working SO HARD on the monkey bars at pre-school. he says he isn't big enough to reach them yet.

Jason helped him today. Peyton was sooo proud!it was hard to get the boys away from all the fun on the playground, they had such a great time. when we got home were ready to cool off in the pool. we were SO hot from running around so much.Jayden got home and decided he would try to ride his tricycle first. he's so cute with his little tan line. i promise we put sunscreen on both of them like crazy! happy field day!
