Peyton's last day of pre-school was this week as well (Thursday). he had a teddy bear picnic/last day of school party. it was one of the parties i had signed up for at the beginning of the year. i was so excited to see him and help the other moms with the party. i was in charge of the cupcakes. i bought some (yes BOUGHT them!), and did not feel guilty about it at all. what i did feel bad about is.... i had no idea the last day of school was THIS WEEK! i ran around like crazy at about 5:00pm THE NIGHT BEFORE trying to get cupcakes, gifts for the teachers, and a babysitter for Jayden. but it all worked out great. i ran up to the nearest grocery store, bought some CUTE colorful cupcakes, and bought some gummy bears to put on top of them. (teddy bear party + teddy bear cupcakes= total cuteness!). and lucky for me we STOCKED UP big time on Bath & Bodyworks antibacterial hand soap the last time we were in Town Center. so yes, i gave the teachers B&B soap for a thank you/happy summer present. (which the way i look at it, if someone were to give me those soaps i would be thrilled. i am a little addicted to them. which is why we had stocked up in the first place).so.... back to the teddy bear party. Grandpa came to babysit for Jayden. (sooo happy and thankful about that!) Jayden loves him, so i knew they would be fine together. i was gone for two hours and everything went GREAT! the kids had a ball at the party and Jayden had a blast with Grandpa.
Peyton was SOOO excited to see me when i walked into his classroom. while the kids went to music, the other moms and i set up the crafts inside, as well as the picnic outside. all of the kids were so excited to make their visors when they walked into the classroom and saw all of the fun stickers and colors.

when craft time was over, they lined up and went outside for the teddy bear picnic.
Peyton was the caboose (last person in line) on the last day of school. it was his job to turn the light off and to make sure no one got lost. such a big job!
it was REALLY pretty outside and we found a great spot under a big tree for the picnic.
i ended up taking pictures of all the kids. they turned out ok, considering the fact that everyone started running around everywhere when the picnic was over. (and considering i used my kit lens. not my favorite, but i needed to be able to zoom a little, my other lens doesn't zoom at all, but has GREAT bokah. so the kit lens was the pick lens of the day.... and didn't do too shabby with the party).
Peyton wasn't so sure about the cupcake at first. and.... was NOT a fan of the gummy bears on top. (i took them off for him). he wouldn't even touch them. my picky boy!
Aiden was not a fan of me taking pictures of him. his mom and i became good friends over the school year. i hope to see her again next year. i'm kind of hoping our boys will be in the same class again.
Kenzie obviously had a pink cupcake. too cute! i made sure she got a pink one. she was always sooo sweet to Peyton all year!
and Sam (obviously) had orange.
it's so cute how kids can walk around with cupcake all over their face and still be cute!
once the picnic was over the kids scattered like crazy.
Lauren is such a sweet girl!
they played a few games with their teddy bears.
it was a lot of fun for the siblings to see as well!
then it was time to go inside for the last story time of the year.
Mrs. Kanaga handed out certificates for everyone,
then it was time for goodbyes. Peyton loves Mrs. Kanaga. she was such a great teacher for Peyton and turned out to be a good friend. i am sure we will stop in and see her next year. i will definitely put a word in for her at the office when Jayden starts pre-school. (ugh i can't even think about that right now).
it was such a great school year and it went by so fast. i am going to scan and blog (of course) about the certificate and things Peyton brought home. it is AMAZING how much he has grown!
