then of course we swam. (my plan almost every day is to get the boys energy out). swimming and playing in the yard usually does the job, so by noon they are tired and hungry.
one of Jayden's favorite things to do right now is touching all of the flowers and leaves he sees. he stops whatever he's doing just to touch them or look at them.
sometimes it even looks like he is counting them. i have the smartest 2 year old evah!
once the boys were worn out from swimming and full from lunch they both passed out in their beds, and it was time for Jason and i to get the house and food ready for Jayden's 2nd birthday party. i wish i would have taken more pictures of the decorations and food. although i was pretty busy with everything. i had to run out and pick up the cake and balloons while the boys were sleeping. i also had ordered some prints of Jayden's 2 year pictures. (every year at the boy's parties i like to display their 'birthday' photos). the prints i ordered turned out great! for the party i framed the big one and put the little ones out as well.(i have been thinking about reprocessing the big image now that i have learned a little more through tutorials and such. one day i hope to get this down where i know exactly what i am doing. but like i have said before, i really enjoy trying to master the SOOC photos more than processing. i am finding out there are LOTS of different ways to process photos. so many people have their own way of doing theirs. i still haven't found my exact way yet, but i'm getting there).
i took a picture of Jayden's 'photo display' and in this photo you can also see a couple of pre-school projects of Peytons' still hanging on our cork board. i can't get myself to take them down yet.
the Buzz Lightyear cake! Jayden was SO EXCITED when he saw it. Buzz kept falling over so we ended up sitting him down. i ordered the Buzz tablecloth through ebay. do you know how hard it is to find Buzz Lightyear stuff? i ordered a Buzz balloon as well. which i forgot to take a picture of. it was huge and Jayden LOVED it!
Jason took a few pictures of Jayden and i with his cake. i try to take this same picture every year on both of the boy's birthdays.
we decorated outside as well....
finally it was time to party. Grandpa showed up early and got to spend some time alone with the birthday boy before everyone got here.
Jayden just loves his G-pa!
Peyton got a new pair of sunglasses. (he's obviously really proud to wear them, even inside the house). Jayden is just happy with his bff Buzz.
apparently it was time for a show. Jayden started doing his version of a handstand for us. little show off!
then as guests arrived we went ahead and let Jayden open the presents they brought. Peyton even got a few as well.
he was so excited for his present from Bunny & Poppy!
a boat for the pool!
'get off my birthday present!'
my Mom made this Buzz Lightyear pinata. she is so crafty. Jayden loved it!
then.... it was time to beat the crap out of it with the help of Jayden's cousins. with the first hit Buzz hit the ground, so we just let the kids beat on him from there.
they found whatever they could to hit him. Peyton used a snorkel....
Jayden used a pillow polo stick....
a little more snorkel....
then Jayden just decided to rip it apart.
it was nice to see all of the kids playing together and to visit with everyone. this is Amy and Brook's youngest son Tatum. Amy and i had such a great time at the party together. she is such a great friend.
little Tatum.
Peyton loves when we have friends over and eat dinner outside.
he sure does love his daddy!
most of our guests left around 7:00 or so. but we kept swimming and let the boys play. Amy & Billy stayed late as well. it was a lot of fun. we finally brought the cake outside for the boys.
Peyton wanted to 'help' Jayden blow out the candles.
he's a REALLY good helper. so much so i don't think Jayden's little baby breath even touched the candles....
but he sure did try!
mmm cake!
Happy 2nd Birthday (party) Jayden!
