once we came in and warmed up from playing in the snow this morning the boys were tired and ready for lunch and a nap. while they were napping Jason and i took a few random pictures of the snow. one of our house,

our big tree,

the back porch....

and our palm tree!

i also made some 'tastefully simple' beer bread.
mmm good stuff!

once Peyton and
Jayden woke up a couple hours later they were ready to play in the snow again. Peyton really wanted to play in the backyard this time so out we went.... he dropped right down to make a snow angel for me.

then we worked on a snowman, Texas style....

small but way cool in swim goggles!

CHEESE!

meanwhile we COULD NOT stop
Jayden from eating the snow.

it's the only thing he did!

Peyton made his first snowball.... so proud!

watch out!

he LOVED throwing them at the fence! can you tell?

meanwhile....
Jayden was still looking for snow and ice to eat. chomp, chomp,
mmmm good!

it was so much fun taking pictures of the boys in the snow.

i took a million!

Peyton and
Jayden were FINALLY ready to come inside when their hands started freezing off! when they came in to warm up by the fire they found
Elfafin had moved and left them a present and a note! the note said 'tonight would be
Elfafin's last night at our house, and that he had packed his bag and had his sleeping bag ready to go back to the North Pole with Santa when he came to visit tonight. it also said that he would miss them and couldn't wait to tell Santa what good boys they had been.'

Peyton was REALLY sad about
Elfafin's last night here and wanted to write Santa a letter asking if he could stay a little longer. i tried to change the subject by getting the boys to open the gifts
Elfafin had left for them (matching pajamas & books),

but Peyton just
couldnt get over the fact that
Elfafin would be gone soon. (i felt HORRIBLE for him. UGH!)
Jayden, on the other hand, was fine with it. (look how red
Jayden's face was from the snow... i felt so bad for him. but he
didnt seem to mind).

we decided to bake some cookies for Santa, and Peyton decided what he wanted to write on his note to Santa.

the boys worked really well together making the cookies.

and taking turns,

watching the cookies bake.

cookies for Santa, and the beer bread i made earlier today. (it was obviously good!)

after a warm bath and dinner, Peyton and I sat down to write Santa's letter.

Peyton told me what he wanted to say and i wrote it down for him, then he signed his name.

then it was time to put the reindeer food outside. this was
Jayden's first time to feed the reindeer.... and Peyton was excited to show him how.

here we go!

but of course
Jayden had his own way of doing it....

then apparently it was time to look for Santa, run in the snow,

and make footprints!

the boys were so excited for Santa to get here,

and we were excited for them!

Merry Christmas!
