i came to the reality that Jayden might need his bangs cut. so after i took Peyton to pre-school this morning i trimmed Jayden's bangs. i didnt let myself think about it, i just got the scissors and trimmed. there is something about cutting your baby's hair for the first time, even though it's hard to do, you see the baby face you saw when they were born. so cute!
but then today as he was playing outside i looked over and saw this....
a messy face AND a baby mullet!.... so when Jason got home from work we sat Jayden on the table outside and came up with a plan.
hmmm what are those for?
Jason was in charge of pictures and i was in charge of trimming. (again, i did not let myself think about what i was doing. just trim it and get rid of the mullet i thought i saw). Jayden wasn't so sure about our plan.
when i thought about cutting Jayden's hair for the first time i had big plans on having him in a chair, in the kitchen, with my camera ready, and taking pictures of every hair that fell.... but i know if i would have set it up that way today i would have bailed on the whole thing. so outside, no thinking, and with a scissor in my hand,i.cut.my.baby's.hair....
after the whole thing was over (i saved every last hair) both boys celebrated together in their 'clubhouse' with icepops.
i still love Jayden's hair....
and that face.... i love that face.
