this morning, for some reason, playtime was in the kitchen right under my feet, and Peyton told knock knock jokes the WHOLE time.
he makes them up as he goes....Peyton: 'knock knock
Me: 'who's there'
Peyton: 'chicken'
Me:'chicken who'
Peyton: 'ummmm....... chicken poo poo head!'
then he cracks up like it's the funniest joke in the world.
then he starts a new one. it goes on and on until someone changes the subject.... usually me. but don't get me wrong i LOVE his jokes, or even more than that, i LOVE watching him crack up at himself. he's such a 'boy' now.
we drive to pre-school with Peyton usually telling me 'we will play in the gym today because it's too cold to play outside'. he also asks for me to play his favorite song 'the road song' aka 'On the road again' by Willie Nelson. after we listen to Willie'LOUDER PLEASE'.... both boys want to hear Kelly Clarkson's new cd (also one of my new favorites). it is SO FUNNY watching the boys dance and play the drums in their carseats. cracks me up every single time! once we drop Peyton off at school the car is really quiet. Jayden asks where 'gung gung' is a few times on the way home. (Jayden calls Peyton 'gung gung'. we don't know why). once Jayden and i get home he usually sits on the couch with his sheekie while i make breakfast for us. today he had a slight meltdown after we got him dressed. (i'm pretty sure it was because i got my camera out). i wanted to practice my 'manual' skills, (i've been shooting in 'aperture' mode for a few months and got a little worried that i forgot how to shoot in manual). so i took pictures (in manual) of Jayden's melt down.
he was SOOOO happy with me!
so we went into the dining room to play peek-a-boo.
peep eye!
i must be boring. sorry Jay. (but i'm loving i didnt forget 'manual'! i was a little worried.)
then i followed him into the kitchen to play his new favorite game....
on.... off.... on.... off..
oh so fun for mommy.
thinking, thinking....
i can turn the lights on! he was obviously so proud of himself.
then he ran around the kitchen (i dont know why).... but me and my camera could not keep up with him.
he went to the playroom and found his leap pad....
both boys love these things!
then he took it into the living room....
our mornings are so interesting, dont ya think?
such a smart little boy.
ok mama enough with the pictures!
so pretty much our mornings without Peyton are all similar to this. i love watching Jayden entertain himself, but he misses Peyton a lot when he's in pre-school..... we both do. i catch myself watching the clock and looking at Peyton's school schedule a lot when he's gone. it's only 3 hours, but it feels much longer. both Jayden and i are SO HAPPY when school is out and see Peyton walk outside with his friends. every Friday we drive through McDonalds for french fries.... a special bonus to start the weekends.
