snow dayz #1....

it never REALLY snows in Texas? well, yes apparently it does! in the past few months we have had two snow 'storms' come through. the first one was on Christmas Eve and then this morning i woke up to Peyton pulling me out of bed and saying 'Mommy it SNOWED last night!' and he wasnt kidding! it was crazy snow and it continued all day. it didnt ice enough to close Jason's school, or Peyton's speech class. so Jason went off to work and i bundled the boys up (the best i could! we are not prepared for snow AT ALL) and went outside to play for just a little while. first they made snowballs,then they had a snowball fight....Jayden got hit right in the hat!and it stayed there!throwing snowballs at the fence was fun too!Peyton made snow angels....so proud!and then SO OVER me taking pictures of him.Jayden pretty much ate snow the whole time we were outside. hmmm this snowball looks like a good one....yum!and of course Peyton had to try some as well.i am not a fan of cold weather at all.... but it was really beautiful. when it was time to walk to speech this afternoon, Peyton was REALLY excited because the snow was STILL coming down! on the way to pick Peyton up from speech i took my camera with me. this is the street behind our house.... so beautiful today!Peyton just had to taste test the snow at speech.we take this walk twice a week and today was the most interesting and fun!i told the boys we could play outside again when Daddy got home from work, so they waited right by the window.they wanted to play in the front yard first.... the boys helped shovel the sidewalk.Sammie even had fun in the snow.she's so white you can barely see her!i couldnt believe all of the snow on our street!they were excited to build a snowman in the backyard....such good helpers! (notice Jay? he's still eating snow!)i have some snow!such a great snowman!good job!i was obviously not concerned with how i looked today.our tiki torch was covered!i started to worry about Jayden,he started looking like he didnt feel well.so we came in to rest.... he was so snuggly with Jason on the couch.
we made the boys a hot bath and put their warm footy pjs on. i even wrapped them in blankets while they were eating dinner.

we had such a great day today! it was so exciting to see all of the snow.... and it continued to come down all night!
